weather looks really good ?anyone thinking of going local .failing that ,further afield?
We had a great evening at New Mills last night. Bertrand I started off with a repeat ascent of Mather Crack, E2 5b. I'm not quite sure when it became appropriate for me to jump on an E2 as the first route of the day, but it seemed to go pretty smoothly.
Next up Bertrand…Continue
well today hasn't happened!! for whatever reason ,being out climbing left me with a very sourfaced wife .wasn't that i hadn't given advance notice of my intentions. All i got was,"I didn't think you'd be out 4 hours if you're climbing locally" !!!! A clear sign that this wasn't going down well. however my dearest will of course be out all afternoon at her Mum's ! i'm currently scratching my fingernails down every available wall

Just an historical post Ray Price joined about the same time as I did i.e before a lot of you were born. He was mainly a hill walker I have many happy memories of some of our trips such as bivvying mid winter in an old quarry cave at the head of Longsleddale. It was of course cold and wet. Then there was the first view of what was to be the Bury Hostel at Glenridding It also was flooded, a far cry from the current hostel which Ray and I both helped to get through its early years. Ray had…Continue

After practically a full 2 years out with injuries ,I'm hoping to get back to climbing again at the tender age of 67 (on the instructions of my physio).Of course, for me it raised the issue of "How do you climb ?" -memory loss being a major component of the ageing process. Then having sorted a few books out ,I realised I was missing 2 DVDs -Libby Peter's Rock Climbing Essentials and Neil Gresham's Masterclass. So ,I'm wondering if I have lent them to anyone in the club.

As most of you know, I am Spanish, from Mallorca. I came here 9 Month ago to start an adventure, a new leaf in my life.
My passions are mountains and climbing, I am an IT professional and my Hobby is programming unmanned vehicles leaded by microcontrollers, and fortunately I met the MOB in the right place at the right time.
The first thing I did when I arrived was go to climbing wall, and there was when I met Graham, and later Derek. I joined to MOB quite early and I started to…Continue
I arrived at the bunkhouse in Lanfairfechan for the weekend not knowing quite what to expect. There were a couple of familiar faces but otherwise just a handful of random friendly mountain bikers. I hadn’t taken a bike so was planning on walking - or climbing, should someone willing to show me the ropes (literally!). As it happened that person was Matt. Full of enthusiasm he seemed more than willing to take myself and Fiona, both comparative beginners but with a…Continue

We used to have a regular UKC Transpennine Meet - climbing, walking and / or beers - for people living across the transpennine corridor mostly between…Continue
