Well, the afternoon's rain meant that it was slippery under foot and the vegetation was very wet where the controls were off-track but there was a window of dry weather so that the earliest finishers got round before the drizzle started again. Although some found a few of the control points a bit challenging, everybody seemed to enjoy the event. We did get a bit anxious about Derek's late return and were thinking of putting the MRT on notice - although to be fair he was the last starter. An open fire at the pub afterwards provided an opportunity to dry off.
The results were:
1st Nigel 59 min 45 sec
2nd Gary W 1 hour 2 min 59 sec + 5 min penalty
3rd Ian B 1 hour 18 min 01 sec
4th Derek 1 hour 40 min 29 sec
5th Mike 1 hour 42 min 22 sec + lots of time penalties
