First weekend in Dec of all weekend was our annual lads Christams biking and bozzy do. Sharp Edge

Sunday 18 of us, 3 being newbies set off from Mungrisdale at 9.15 taking the easy angled valley up to Sharp Edge we giving everyone chance to chat and catch up. As we gained height on Sharp Edge the low lying cloud started to brake to give some lovely views. We had put a couple of ropes in but everyone seemed happy,"just about", with the climbing, although it never gets any easier and as the book says can be tricky in greasy conditions.…

Phase Two Deeply revamp

After last years revamp of Deeply by the members of the Mob, we decided to start on phase two  project of digging out the next bouldering bay on the left.  After doing an exploratory dig last year I knew that the going wouldn't be that hard, that said it still needed shifting and my back always complains afterwards Emoji . We decided that rather than barrowing all the soil away we would just pull the soil away from the face and while making the face higher it…

Article by Will Gadd that I thought was worth a read.

On day 18 of a planned 12-day trip, the head of athlete marketing for Red Bull was sliding down the emotional slope from stressed toward very unhappy about what wasn't happening: climbing. It was November 2006 and we were in Nepal to climb a huge new face. Mr. Red Bull was there to oversee where the brand's large chunk of cash was going. Every day we started…

Longsledale walk

On the Saturday looking out of the window at the beautiful weather my mind drifted to our planned walk the following day,  I as everyone else knew that the window of good weather wasn't going to last and by late afternoon things had already started to change.  The first of the winter walks would go ahead bad weather or not, and I knew we have a reasonable turn out.  That night was Geoff and Julies Halloween party which ended up a great night, only…

December Mob walk

The weather forecast had dire warnings for travel so very limited turn out Average age of the walkers was 70 y.o. There was just a small amount f snow on roads. But the regular track up Pendle hill was hard packed snow hence slippery. Took took the cross country route to Ogden Clough about 6ins of soft snow. Very few people out on the tops. Sorry the younger members were all at home watching City week in fact all back home before kick off
