Minutes of Bury Mountaineering Club Meeting: Weds 1st May 2019

Past Activities12th-20th April. Ian in Scotland, hillwalking & staying in bothies, Northern Highlands. Peaks ascended were Suilven, Seana Bhraigh & Beinn Dearg. Bothies stayed in – Suileag, Knockdamph, Corriemor, Glenbeag, Schoolhouse and Lochivraon. Then down to the eastern Scottish Borders for three countryside walks, and a night at Will's bothy(Southern Uplands, S of Hawick) on the way home. Report of Moel Famau Winter Walk

6 of us(Derek, Gary Walker, Ian Cuddy, Costel, Steve(Derek's mate) and myself) took part in the first 'Winter Walk' of the season. Started from Loggerheads Country Park car park at 9:15, after leaving a car at Bodfari. A very picturesque initial section took us along the bottom of a wooded limestone gorge. Then we crossed the river, climbed out of the gorge, and gradually worked our way up to Moel Famau, the highest peak of the Clwydian Range. From there we followed the ridge of the Clwydian…
