First of the winter walk series aimed at getting memebers of all levels out on to the fells. We plan to set off from Longsleadale Out Door pursuits Centre and walking upon to Kentmere Pike, Harter fell with an option of return legs depending on the weather conditions. I have made arrangements to meet at LOPC to leave the cars there, and use the centre for a brew when we come down. There is room for around 8 cars so try and share. We are aiming to start walking at 10am prompt and the walk should take around 4 /5 hours depending route. I hope to see you all there it would be nice to see a few new faces.

Heading North on the M6:
At Junction 36 take the exit and turn left at the roundabout onto the A590 / A591 signposted Windermere / Kendal.
Follow this dual carriageway for 9 miles until you come to a huge roundabout at the bottom of a hill. This is the Plumgarth Roundabout.
Take the second exit from the roundabout signposted A591 Windermere onto the dual carriageway.
After a very short distance turn right on the road signposted ‘Burneside’. Follow this winding road downhill for almost 1 mile, over a level crossing, to a T-junction.
At the T-junction turn right, then turn immediately left.
Follow this road, past the Spar / Premier shop on your right. After approximately 0.5 miles turn left. The road has a ‘Longsleddale’ signpost at low level in front of a stone wall.
Follow this winding road for 6.5 miles until you reach a tiny village and a T-junction. This is Garnett Bridge.
Turn left here and follow the road for 4.3 miles. At this point there is a track on the right with a car number plate at low level signposting ‘LOPC’.
Turn right here and follow the track to the last barn on the right. This is Longsleddale Outdoor Pursuit Centre.
If you go past the LOPC turning you will come to a point where the road turns to a rocky track. Turn around here then take the first left.
If your intending coming please indicate your attending and send me text to sort out cars. I will be leaving Bury at 8am and put a few sign's up to guide you in to LOPC. If you need any directions give me a shout. Lets hope we get a good day. Thanks Derek
Hi Dave as you know I've been chatting with Edie and he's give me the nodd for using LOPC for parking and brew after. I've not arranged with any one about the key as yet but I beleave Alan has a key. Phil or Mary might sort that out for me Be nice to have you along IF YOU CAN FIND TIME. Not sure about xmas as yet although I do tend to get away for a few days in between. Keep in touch D
Hi Derek,
I’ve put the date in my diary. May be there, may not. Hopefully will, then I can waffle on to your guys how good volunteering at LOPC is. Who’ve you arranged brews with at LOPC?
What are your (and the club’s) plans over xmas? I’m going to Scotland mid December and not planning to come home till March, so if there’s anything happening, we could meet up.
Speak soon. (a very busy) Dave Clark
