Time: January 12, 2014 from 9am to 5pm
Location: From Grasmere
Street: Car Park 338079 just north of village centre on west bank of river.
City/Town: Grasmere
Phone: 07918 654230 015394 37550 (night before)
Event Type: winter, walk
Organized By: Mike Chambers
Latest Activity: Jan 11, 2014
Helm Crag, Calf Crag, High Raise (762m) returning down Easedale with possible extension to take in Pavey Ark. Crampons and ice axe are likely to be required unless the weather remains exceptionally mild.
Car park is pay and display. There is limited road side parking in the village but car park offers a meeting point. The plan is to meet at 9.00 am to be walking by 9.30.
The route is not massively physically strenuous so it will suit people who are not "hard core" - but we are likely to meet winter conditions so need to be well equipped. Give me a call if you are unsure.
Give us a clue if you are coming so we can avoid unnecessary waiting around.
Could be a fantastic day.
Mike

At our meeting yesterday we decided to meet on the roundabout underneath junction 3 of the M65 motorway (accessible by both M61 and M65 travellers) so we can organise ourselves into the minimum number of cars. Weather forecast suggests we might get away with less than full winter gear - I'll probably carry crampons but I doubt they will be essential - need to be warm and dry - spare gloves etc. see you Sunday. Mike
Hope to join you but depends on family stuff.
All being well I should be there Mike, lovely part of the Lakes.
