Regards Mark Davies weekend down in Midd Wales next weekend.  I myself will not be biking instead I am hopefully doing some climbing / scrambling / paragliding or just walking.

I've been doing a bit of research on the climbing in the area.  I was thinking of going to Cader Idris to do Pencoed Piller 740ft HVD ***  as an option there is Barnmouth Slabs which as got a few nice routes.

See UKC for information on these areas.

If the weather doesn't play ball (as it as not been doing recently) then a walk or Scramble might be on.

If you are interested in going there are still places left, just give Mike Chambers a ring.

Regards Derek

Possible Walk (Berwyn from Pistyll Rhaeadr)

This is a fantastic walk in the lesser trodden welsh county of Powys. The target of the walk is the mountain summits of Cadair Berwyn and Moel Sych which are reached by passing through the remote and beautiful Cwm Nant y Llyn valley and taking in the gorgeous Llyn Lluncaws. The great thing about this walk though is that the start of the walk is just as big a highlight of the walk as the mountains you are heading for. The walk starts at the spectacular Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, known as one of the seven natural wonders of Wales. Falling two hundred and forty feet over the rocky Silurian cliff face above Tan-y-pistyll the water falls eventually through a stunning natural arch into a pool below. This is the tallest waterfall in Britain outside of Scotland. The Cadair Berwyn mountain is the highest mountain in Wales outside of either of the two big National Parks. The views from the top are brilliant and the higher mountain ranges can all be seen in a truly panoramic view. The walk is fairly easy going with good paths and the ascent is fairly steady until the section above Llyn Lluncaws but even this isn't too hard.

The climb sounds like my cuppa tea :)

Hi Derek,

I will most likely be taking my climbing kit down, so may be interested in the climbing side also.

Is it full weekend your going for or just day ???? id have space in my car if the climbing is on for 2 or 3 if needed

There is still room on the weekend for a few folk, I think its 25 pound for 2 nights if your interested. you could come down with a mate if you want or there might be a spare place in a car? you'd have to post for possible lift.

I'm sorted with Keith.

Regards Derek
