Yes I was thinking we should bring a few bits down, any comment Rick.

It would be good if we all had the same map, poss one of the Lakes.  I suggest South West as I've got 6 maps covering that area that I could bring.

I was going to mention a few point on getting off the Ben, things that I have done my self to get off safely.

Geoff, 

bring along all of those if you like. I will bring along a good selection of maps and a compass or two. I'll be using a power point presentation to illustrate points, but it wouldn't hurt to have a real map in front of you.  If you have any questions concerning the use of the GPS by all means bring it along and if I cant help, I'm sure someone else will be able to.

I don't really know at what level to pitch the session..ie..basic use of the map etc. but I was going to look at specific strategies for dealing with winter conditions. Strategies for poor weather and the effect of snow covering the type of features you would normally use in summer.

 

It would be useful if people could put a comment on here to let me know any specific skills or concepts you'd like me to include in the session.
