The easest way to tell all the members about a last minute event, climbing day/walk etc, is as follows,
1) Add and save the event in the normal manner.
2) You will see within the text of your event the words "INVITE MORE PEOPLE". Click into this
3) Click the heading "INVITE ALL MEMBERS", ignore the rest of the page.
4) There is then space to add an extra message if you wish but it isn't necessary.
5) click send
6) This message will be immediately sent to every members email address

Well, this didn't work for me tonight. After clicking on "Invite more people" I didn't get a screen with "invite all members" as an option. The available options were: import from web address book; enter email address; invite friends; import from address book application. I'll call you tomorrow to get some instruction.
It may be that only administrators can do this. Currently that is me, Sue, Derek and Will. I have re-entered Friday night in my name and sent the invites. I suppose it would make sense, otherwise we could have all 84 members all emailing all 84 members, chaos!
