Event Description

Longsledale Outdoor Pursuits Centre (LOPC) for short is situated in the far east part of the Lakes next valley along to Kentmere. The accommodation will sleep 25 with some camping available, and is fully equiped with all the usual self catering needs. This is a very quite part of the Lakes in part due to no through road and LOPC's location is ideal for walking and scrambling with a few MTB routes near by.

I am hoping that we will be able to get enough wood together for a small ish fire in evenings and if anyone wants to bring an instument along it would be very welcome , Mike.

If we fill the hut the cost will be around £15.00 each for the full weekend.

I will leave it till the next meeting in Sept for members to get their names down after that I will throw it open to none members so if you want to go get in touch asap as I am expecting it to be very popular.

Its been a long time since we have had a meet here but a lot of us have got some fond memories of the place.

Longsleddale Outdoor Pursuits Centre is a voluntary outdoors centre based just North of Kendal in the Lake District. It was formed 40 years ago to provide free or cheap access to the outdoors for the underprivileged youth of Bolton / Manchester.

Comment by Derek Kenyon on September 6, 2018 at 20:59: Yes there are still places on this weekend, so Cath and Andy sons you are ok. If anyone else want to go please can they let me know. At the moment the weekend won't cost more that £20 per head for the two nights. Can everyone bring some money on the weekend as I will sort out the payment direct with Nigel at LOPC. Hopefully weather permitting we will have a large fire on the Saturday night and please bring and musical implements or a party piece for the entertainment I'm sure it will be a great night as usual.
