Mob Climbing Day at Ravenstones Chew Valley

Well I've been speaking to a few of the members and I've decided to give Ravenstones a visit.  It's a high north facing crag so it should be cooler and quieter than Stanage etc. It takes about 50 min to walk in so its a bit far for an evening hence the full day out.  It will give us a chance to use our NEW moorland grit guides.

If you've been looking to get involved with the club now's your chance, you more than welcome to join us.

Those living in the Bury area can meet at the cinema car park at 8.30 were we can car share from there and leave other cars.  Check out UKC for parking and approach.  Take your cags as we might get a shower.

Climbs 150 – Rocktype Gritstone – Altitude 440m a.s.l – Faces N

Crag features
An excellent mountain crag of rough moorland grit up to 20m high set in a superbly exposed situation (most routes feel like the second pitch!). Green early in the year, best visited afternons and evenings in summer when the crag gets the sun. Plenty of routes of all grades, the isolated location adding a serious air. Lower grade classics include Grey's Wall (HS 4b), Wedgewood Crack (VS 4c,4b) and Trinnacle East (HVS 5a). Best extremes are True Grit (E2 5c), Stranger Than Friction (E3 5c), Welcome to Greenfield... (E3 5c)
