As many of you know, I'm keen on organising a trip to Skye this spring/ summer. My original suggestion was to go for the bank holiday weekend but some people are now not sure they can make it then. We discussed it at the meet last night and it was also mentioned that the cuillin ridge is likely to be extremely busy on that bank holiday weekend. It may be a good idea to move it back into June - a move which would also mean more daylight to help an attempt on the ridge. I am happy with either choice but very keen to do it at some point this year. If people can reply to this thread stating their views, I'll organise the event based on the majority view. So if you are interested can you reply stating whether you would prefer:

A. May bank holiday weekend (last weekend in may)
B. a weekend in June
C. A weekend after June.

There is more to do there than the ridge - if you don't fancy tackling the ridge (basically a 2 day mountaineering challenge with a bivvy), there are easier walks, countless rock climbs, and even boat trips to look at seals and things...

Cheers
Graham

Hi Graham, I am really keen to get this done as well. My preference would probably be a weekend in June. After June I am going to struggle. I think May BH may be a bit busy.

hi graham. i really don't mind when we go. it being busy over a bank holiday is prob right. a nightmare for travelling

Hi Graham - I have the week beginning with bank holiday off work and I'll either go to Skye or bothying with Caroline. I do have an ambition to do the Inaccessible Pinnacle so if anyone fancies that and can be on Skye at some point during my week that might work. The weekend following the bank holiday is in June, of course. I am working on the "kids" as well who are working in Scotland and may be tempted out.

Hi Graham, I have provisionally booked the week before the bank holiday off work and would still hope to go if the weather was fine.

Weekend in June is also possible but depends on work.  Gary
