Greetings to all you climbers.

As some of you probably know the BMC have managed to buy Wilton 1 quarry and secure access to the other quarries as before. If they had not done so we would have lost access to Wilton 1 so that very good news. Over the years the club has attended and done independant clean ups at the quarries which has made a big differance in keeping the routes in a climbable condition. I received an email of a coming clean up at Wilton 1, and as being one of the main clubs in the area I think we should make an effort to attend.
See below for full details. If you are able to go can you let me know. Thanks Derek

Wilton Restoration & BBQ

The BMCs North West team will be at Wilton 1 on Sunday 29th March from 10.30am. The aim is to start the process of restoring the crag to its former glory. This means cleaning routes, cutting back the tops, bashing in belay stakes and having a laugh.

Tea and cakes will be provided by the team, and a celebratory BBQ will take place at the end of the day before we head off to the pub for a few light ales. Tools will be provided but if you have your own, please bring them.

Essential items:
Helmet
Ab rope
Shunt type device (I can help with these)

(only applies if your dangling on the end of a rope) still lots to do if you don't feel confident to do this, although you might still be better wareing an helmet.

other kit

Old clothes
Gardening kit:
Spade
Garden Fork
Hand tools
Gardening gloves
Bin liners
Secateurs
Loppers
Rake
Something to clean cracks with (e.g. patio knives)
