Event Description

A walk starting at Seathwaite in Borrowdale. The intended route is Grains Gill - Esk Hause - Scafell Pike - Corridor Route - Sty Head - Stockley Bridge - Seathwaite. Options to also take in summits of Scafell, and/or Ling Mell.

Meet at Seathwaite from 9:00am, for 9:30 start.

I'll be camping in the Lakes Sat night, so can't give anyone a lift

Looks like it's going to be cold so crampons + ice axe adviseable. I'll ask at the meeting if anyone's got spares. Plus lots of warm clothes incl waterproofs. No other technical gear needed.

Comment by Jimmy Leeson on February 13, 2013 at 12:30: Hi Ian, I'm keen to come along on the walk but haven't done any winter walking before. What kit/clothing would you recommend, if there is any specialist equipment needed such as crampons does anyone have some I can borrow.

Would also like to know how people are getting there, if anyone has space can I get a lift. I'm in Manchester centre but can get most places in the outskirts by public transport.
