Event Description

A weekends climbing based near Portmadog in North Wales.  Saturday climbing at Tremadog described here as:

"predominantly made up of solid dolerite, with lots of positive edges, corners, arêtes, cracks and other features which make the climbing diverse and interesting, as well as fairly well endowed with protection. With routes ranging from Diff to E7 there is something here for everyone."

Sunday bouldering at Porth Ysgo which is a beautiful venue by the sea near Abersoch, with some good boulders, most of which are not tidal and there are plenty of problems from V0 to V12.  However, mats are essential as the landings are not good.

Planning to stay Friday/Saturday nights at the infamous Eric's Barn in Tremadog which currently has availability and there is camping here also.  A night in the barn is around £7.50 each and the cafe does food.  Will need to book so let me know if you want a place reserving.

All welcome.

I've booked for 8 both nights.  If anyone else wants me to reserve a place just let me know. Jill

Hey Jill, from the looks of it, it'll be better on Sunday and after a heavy spell of rain on Saturday morn it looks to be only light rain in the afternoon. It dries out pretty quickly and certain spots are sheltered as well so all may be fine. I think I'm going to be coming down with Jim. Also if it all goes to pot there's always Carreg Hyll-Drem for the girdle traverse.

Hi Leo.  We are all just heading down there whatever the weather and we'll sort it when we get there.  There's around 10 going and I think your best chance of a lift down is probably Jon now.

Is there a back up plan as yet? Hoping the weather is going to change as it's not looking great at the mo. It's early days though I suppose!
