"Hi Ian, I'm keen to come along on the walk but haven't done any winter walking before. What kit/clothing would you recommend, if there is any specialist equipment needed such as crampons does anyone have some I can borrow.

Would also like to know how people are getting there, if anyone has space can I get a lift. I'm in Manchester centre but can get most places in the outskirts by public transport.
