That's great Fiona. Do you ever get to the meetings? As I'm in Manchester I rarely get to meetings. Maybe someone should bring it up at the next one.

For the last five years the BMC has allocated over £110k of Sport England funding to BMC affiliated clubs.

Further funding has been secured from Sport England, with £21,000 to allocate this year as follows:

To develop club websites & newsletters - Category A.
This funding enables clubs to improve the quality of existing club websites or newsletters or to develop new websites or newsletters.
To purchase club equipment - Category B.
This category assists clubs in taking on and supporting novices and young members who may not yet possess all of the mountaineering equipment they need.
For instructor support for clubs - Category C.
This funding enables clubs to employ professional instructors to provide training to novice members – so to support the club in being able to welcome novices.

Clubs can apply for one, two or three funding categories, and the closing date for all applications is Friday 2 May 2014. Clubs will be informed on the success of their application by the end of May.
