See below from the BMC.
I should also add that I have just had news that the BMC are anticipating a rise of £2 in annual membership next year (2015). This will be one of the proposals discussed at the AGM. I'll raise this for discussion at our next formal club meeting, and will bring the details to the meeting.
cheers

Important
I am writing to invite your club to send a representative(s) to the following two BMC events; I would be grateful if you could circulate this email to those in your club who might have an interest:
1. BMC Office ‘drop-in’ event for clubs. On Thursday 30 January we are running an informal ‘drop-in’ session for clubs between 4.00-6.30pm; the format is as follows:
4.00-5.00pm: Office tour; opportunities to speak with BMC staff responsible for membership administration, IT, database & website, Summit magazine, finance, mountain training, huts, access & conservation and other matters. Our insurers (Perkins Slade) will also be in the office on the day.
5.00-6.00pm: Group discussion session hosted by the BMC Clubs Committee; presentation by Dave Turnbull and Jane Edwards on the BMC’s work for clubs; discussion of the challenges facing clubs, subscriptions and how the BMC can improve its work and services for clubs.
6.00-6.30pm: Refreshments / buffet / depart.
Please email Lynda Buckley – Lynda@thebmc.co.uk to confirm your attendance. All are welcome.
2. BMC AGM & Portland Festival Weekend, 25-27 April. BMC clubs are warmly invited to attend the AGM 2014 weekend on Portland, Dorset. A range of indoor and outdoor activities are planned including evening lectures, guided coastal walks, coaching sessions from Steve McClure and James McHaffie plus an apparently excellent local band – the Devils Rejects – on the Saturday evening. For further details please visit www.thebmc.co.uk/agm2014 or email Kate Anwyl – Kate@thebmc.co.uk
Kind regards
Kate Anwyl
