The wild camp and walk landed lucky on a weekend of perfect weather. Mick Slater ( soon to join the club ) and I parked up nr the NT camp site and set off up the steep read over to little langdale on foot. The plan was to walk up pike o' stickle, down and up to cold pike and then camp at little stand. Our packs were a bit too heavy and pike o stickle a bit too high though ! We got to the top of pike o stickle eventually, after stopping several times for a rest and brew up. The lovely evening weather was great and the views down langdale superb.

We could see from the top a cool place to camp and so headed across the valley , past red tarn and camped south of cold pike , with great views down to hardnott pass and the Duddon valley.

We cooked up some good food and drinks and had a chilled out night.

The following day we walked over crinkle crags and down the band back to the car.

The weather was warm and never was a pint of lager more looked forward to than that at the old dungeon Gill that day.

All in all a great mini adventure , just need to get the packs a lot lighter for next time!
