MOB Minutes – October 2015.

Meeting chaired JW, minutes JB, members present 19.

1.    Doug Scott lecture

This has again proved very popular and is now sold out.

2.    T-shirts

These have turned out great – Thanks Juan and Lisa – and were distributed during the meeting with complimentary t-shirts for Dom and Reggie as a thank-you for all their support.  Reggie’s t-shirt to be posted to Angelsey. JB

3.    MOB kit

Tony H has put a MOB kit-list in the discussions area of the website (about 3rd item down). He is looking into ways to keep it at the top of the discussions page.

4.    LCC hut in Wales near Beddgelert

The hut is still to be signed off but has been provisionally booked for the weekend of April 17th 2015.  Enquiries will be made as to whether camping is also available.  JB

5.    Lancashire bouldering guide

It was hoped that Robin would be at the meeting with the new Lancashire Bouldering Guide which several members have expressed an interest in.  Latest news is that it is not back from the printers yet.  Will post on the website when any news is received.  JB

6.    Xmas do

The Jewel in the Crown has been booked on Saturday 13th December for the Xmas meal at 7pm.  Deposits (£5) secure a place and initial payment will be dropped off after next meeting.  9 deposits already taken. JB

7.    Bouldering competition

A suggestion was made that we ask Graham Stevens if he would be interested in hosting a MOB bouldering competition at Rockover in the new year.  I’ll ask him.  JB


8.    Grasmere walk

On Saturday 11th October of around 13 miles although other walks in the area may be available.  IB

9.    Night navigation event

Wednesday 19th November on Holcombe Moor.  West Pennine maps needed and a compass. MC

10. Photo competition

Dave Crabtree is to judge the competition on Wednesday 3rd December.  Send 3 photo’s to Ian Brewster to be in with a chance.

11. Winter meet

13 places available for Glen Etive hut of which around 10 have been taken and paid for. (£12)  Camping is also available at £3 for those who wish to camp in Scotland in February.  IB and website for further details.

12. Winter walks

October – JW 26th October – somewhere in the Lakes probably.

November – DK

December – JM

13. Wednesday climbing meets – now Tuesdays

A change of evening has been suggested to allow more people to attend the indoor meetings.

14/10/14 – West View, Preston

21/10/14 – Stockport Wall

28/10/14 – Rockover, Manchester

Mob meeting minutes October

no new updates re event attendees.

Future activities being filled us fast or already full. Pls contact the organiser if interested in attending one.

Mike chambers informed us that there is an old bank account with 0.90p in it that needs closing. He will sort that out.

Photo comp will be at Dec meeting as usual. Pls send in a max of 3 photos to Ian Brewster.

MOB minutes May meeting Annual AGM

The AGM was well attended with approx 15 members.

Our current chair Cath Skinner did a quick resume of the years' events and thanked the members for their efforts and participation. Particular thanks goes to those who put events on the web site and managed them for all. We have had some great times out and about over the year together.

Thanks to Cath for her chairwoman ship over the year , she has done a great job.

Helping the Bury Jubilee Outdoor Pursuits Centre

Hi - does anyone feel able to respond to the appeal below?

Dave Dickson and I have been involved for a long time but I have now left the area and Dave is probably reaching his last fifty years of useful service (sorry to be so blunt, Dave).
