MOB Minutes – January 2016

1.    Subs

Subs are once again due and stand at £23 for the year including BMC insurance.  Details of bank transfer have been emailed to all members to make it easier to pay.  Please make sure you add your name as a reference so that Elliot can track where the money has come from and also send him a text to let him know that money will be coming into the Mob account.  ES

2.    Xmas do

25 places have been booked at the Jewel in the Crown Indian in Bury for this Saturday (16th) at 7pm. 

3.    First aid training

Ron has offered to host a couple of first aid sessions again during the monthly meetings taking the form of scenario training.  Dates tbc.  RP

4.    Reports

IB reported that the Lakes walk on December 20th from Seathwaite to Great Gable went well with mainly dry weather though windy.

5.    Winter walks

February’s winter walk will be organised by John Brandon.  Details to follow.

6.    March winter meet

The Scotland weekend has 9 places paid and so 5 places remaining if any members wish to go.  £10 pppn. MC

7.    Head torch ride

Derek has offered to organise a head torch ride in the bury area of medium difficulty for all bikers on Wednesday 13th January.  See web for details. DK

8.    Running

Gary’s runners have now organised themselves into a WhatsApp group for anyone interested in doing some running.  See GW for further details.

9.    K Shoes hut

This hut needs to be booked at least 12 months in advance and so a booking will be made hopefully for around September 3rd 2017.  DK

10. Black sail youth hostel

Following a post on the forum, there seems to be plenty of interest in running a club weekend to Black sail youth hostel.  Availability will be looked into for next year. TH

11. Moonwalk

Andy Ashton has offered to organise a moonwalk for later in the year on an evening with a full moon. AA

12. Climbing

Tuesday 12th January – Stockport Wall from 6pm.  All welcome. JB

Stockport wall is updating its computer systems and so all members have to reregister on arrival which takes quite a bit of time.  This can be done in advance on the website to save time. Use the adult membership form – there are no payment details taken.



13. New indoor climbing wall

A new wall has opened at Trafford Park.  So far nobody has any further information on this but will pass on as it arrives.

14. Tony’s nuts

Tony is selling his cams and nuts in near pristine condition.  Offers.  TH

15. Rough stuff cycling group – Lancashire

A family friendly cycling club with lots of café visiting on Saturday afternoons.  See John Brandon for further details.

16. Flood clean up

After the recent floods in the area it is expected that there will be a clean-up day at the Burrs.  Details to follow.

Mob meeting minutes October

no new updates re event attendees.

Future activities being filled us fast or already full. Pls contact the organiser if interested in attending one.

Mike chambers informed us that there is an old bank account with 0.90p in it that needs closing. He will sort that out.

MOB minutes May meeting Annual AGM

The AGM was well attended with approx 15 members.

Our current chair Cath Skinner did a quick resume of the years' events and thanked the members for their efforts and participation. Particular thanks goes to those who put events on the web site and managed them for all. We have had some great times out and about over the year together.

Thanks to Cath for her chairwoman ship over the year , she has done a great job.

Hi - does anyone feel able to respond to the appeal below?

Dave Dickson and I have been involved for a long time but I have now left the area and Dave is probably reaching his last fifty years of useful service (sorry to be so blunt, Dave).
