Remember that the Chew Valley Amazing Prize Quiz of the Year is on Saturday 7th December (7.30pm at The Cross Keys, Uppermill). There'll be 50 questions testing your knowledge of Chew Valley routes & history, local folklore, general knowledge and haberdashery. There will be a "Picture Spin Quiz", a guess "Guess the Ironmongery" section and everyone's favourite round: "Whose Arse Is This?" To be honest, non climbers and the deranged will have an equal chance of winning. There will be a range of handicaps on offer for the evening, with the final rules being published about a week before the event. The prizes have to be seen to be believed. I'll see what they can do regarding food. Here's another warm up quiz question: At which pub is this flipping hound eyeing up someone's tea?

OK.. so the food isn't quite free, We may be quite late getting our bums on these hot seats but I can try and book us a team in if people respond quickly... most recent post here:

The Incredible Edible Prize Quiz of the Century is nearly here. The pie & chips (£5) have been booked, the fire has been stoked and the pumps are primed. All I need to do now is get some half decent questions sorted and various prizes that will literally blow your socks off and we're ready. Whatever you might have heard about team entry, especially if you're coming on your own and not sure if you'll know anyone, just turn up and you will be warmly welcomed. The CVC are a very friendly bunch, though you might have to put up with some ranting about how great certain Local Death Traps™ are but apart from that, it's all good. Doors open from 7pm. It'll be a lovely evening. Final questions: 1) Are you coming? 2) How clean are these once overgrown ledges?

The conversation continued and the next thing I knew we were committed !

The following day we rose at…
