Last orders please-tomorrow viz sunday

The fates were against me at every turn today.too late for 2 groups.2 people not able to come out to play.So,tomorrow's my last shout .Once again deeply vale  because it's on a bus route that ,from rammy/Holcombe Broook,  will put me within  a mile walk from the Quarry.So ,if anyone is minded to go out ,I'm game am and/ or pm .Lisa,if you want to follow Dr's advice ,give us  a ring or text (.That applies to anyone actually-not the Dr bit I hope) 0797 2023606.

A cracking evening with the boys at New Mills

We had a great evening at New Mills last night. Bertrand I started off with a repeat ascent of Mather Crack, E2 5b. I'm not quite sure when it became appropriate for me to jump on an E2 as the first route of the day, but it seemed to go pretty smoothly.

answers on a post card .....

well today hasn't happened!!            for whatever reason ,being out climbing left me with a very sourfaced  wife .wasn't that i hadn't given advance notice of my intentions.All i got was,"I didn't think you'd be out 4 hours if you're climbing locally"   !!!!  A clear sign that this wasn't going down well.  however my dearest will of course be out all afternoon at her Mum's !           i'm currently scratching my fingernails down every available wall

Ray Price

Just an historical post Ray Price joined about the same time as I did i.e before  a lot of you were born. He was mainly a hill walker I have many happy memories of some of our trips such as bivvying mid winter in an old quarry cave at the head of Longsleddale.It was of course cold and wet. MOB minutes May meeting Annual AGM

The AGM was well attended with approx 15 members.



Our current chair Cath Skinner did a quick resume of the years' events and thanked the members for their efforts and participation. Particular thanks goes to those who put events on the web site and managed them for all. We have had some great times out and about over the year together.

Dave Dickson and I have been involved for a long time but I have now left the area and Dave is probably reaching his last fifty years of useful service (sorry to be so blunt, Dave).

MOB minute Jan 2017 meeting

This was the annual photo comp presentation. Meeting well attended by 23 members.

New 20.00 hrs start time seems to work well.

People seems to be getting out and about over the xmas hols albeit on shorter ventures.

Plenty of biking and walking going on.

Future events include :

Sat 21st Jan. Christmas curry night. Let mick slater know if you are coming asap. This is usually well attended.
